Who We Are

WE BELIEVE

1. The Scriptures to be the Word of God

“In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1).  The Bible is the Word of God.  It reveals his plan of redemption, reconciliation and salvation to his creation.

“All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for instruction of righteousness.” (II Timothy 3:16).

2. In One God

“The Lord our God is one Lord.”  (Mark 12:29)

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these are one.” (I John 5:7).

The Father – We believe that the Father is the first person of the Godhead.  His revelation comes in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, The Son of God – We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the revelation and manifestation of the Word made flesh, co-equal and co-existent, with the Father, and the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person in the triune Godhead, and that He is ever present and active in the church: convicting and regenerating those who believe in Jesus Christ and dwelling in, sanctifying and comforting believers and guiding them into all truths.

3. Man is a Three Part Being

“The very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

(I Thessalonians 5:23).

4. Original Sin

We believe that original sin is the corruption of the nature of all off-springs of Adam by which they are separated from God, the Father.  This state of sinfulness renders man unfit to enter the presence of God, incapacitates man for the service of God, and prevents man from keeping God’s holy law.  We also believe that this original sin brings every man under the penalty of death – spiritually, emotionally, and physically.  Only Christ can deliver man from the penalty of death and restore him to Divine favor and right relationship with God, the Father.

5. Repentance

Repentance is done by the Holy Spirit, resulting in the person being born of the Spirit.  To be born of the Spirit is the power by which we are saved, and is accomplished only by faith.

6. Justification

Justification is God’s judicial work done for man, whereby full pardon is granted to all who repent, believe on and receive Jesus Christ and personal Savor and Lord.

7. Regeneration

Regeneration is a spiritual transformation wrought in the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God.  By regeneration, the penitent is renewed in the spirit of his mind.

8. Sanctification

Sanctification is the act of God, through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.  Through sanctification, God sets the believer apart for His service.  Sanctification is accomplished only through the surrender of the believer to the will and the way of God.  Sanctification is a process

9. The Gift of The Holy Spirit

We believe that every true believer is heir to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is the compass for the believer in his or her life in Christ – leading, guiding, convicting, revealing, teaching, admonishing, correcting, comforting, and the like.  The Holy Spirit abides in the heart of all who believe on, confess and receive Jesus Christ.

10. The Church is the Body of Christ and exists as a Community of Faith

“Now ye are the Body of Christ, and members in particular.” (I Corinthians 12:38).
